Bus Pass Information

2025/2026 Bus Passes

  • Bus passes can be purchased starting July 1, 2025
  • Bus Passes can ONLY be completed digitally. No walk-ins will be accepted.
  • If you are applying for free or reduced, you must email all documentation (Most Current Cal Fresh Notice of Approval or 2024 Tax Returns - Form 1040) and Bus Pass Application to Esmeralda_Contreras@chino.k12.ca.us or Blanca_Plascencia@chino.k12.ca.us. The office will take free/reduced documentation from applicants starting June 2, 2025.  

 

Bus Pass Office Hours:

  • Monday through Friday
  • 7:30 a.m. -  4:00 p.m
  • Closed on Federal Holidays

 

Pay online for bus passes at My School Bucks and follow the directions. Please do not send an application, the myschoolbucks order will suffice. Please make sure that your address qualifies for transportation before paying the fee. Just a reminder, intradistrict transfers do not qualify for busing and parents agree to provide transportation when a transfer is approved.  After making your purchase online, your bus pass will be mailed. Per Board Policy 3541(a) Transportation Routes and Services, “Students shall be eligible for transportation service to and from school if the distance between their residence and the school is beyond the minimum distances listed below”…

  • Kindergarten    1½ miles from school
  • Grades 1-6         2 miles from school
  • Grades 7-8         3 miles from school
  • Grades 9-12      4 miles from school

All Students must have a current bus pass prior to boarding the bus, NO EXCEPTIONS.

On average, Chino Valley Unified School District drivers safely transport more than 570,000 students over 700,000 miles annually. The yellow school bus is without a doubt the single safest mode of transportation to and from school and school activities.

According to the National Safety Council, school buses are:

  • 172 times safer than the family car
  • 8 times safer than passenger trains
  • 8 times safer than scheduled airlines
  • 4 times safer than intercity transit buses
