ENGLISH LEARNER PROGRAMS AND SUPPORTS:

CVUSD serves students who are learning English and learning academic content at the same time by providing English Language Development on a daily basis, as well as providing classroom content access and support throughout the day.

Teachers are trained on the special methods needed to support English Learners, so that all of our EL will be successful academically and with their acquisition of English.

To learn more about the English Learner Program at your school please attend your school's ELAC meetings, the district's DELAC meetings, and all meetings on the CVUSD LCAP web page.

HOME-SCHOOL-COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS

Our department's Coordinator of Parent and Family Engagement and our District Community Liaison provide many educational opportunities and parent academies at our Family Engagement Center and at school sites. They provide parent training on topics that support parents in ensuring that their children are successful at school and beyond graduation.

TITLE I PROGRAM

Many of our elementary, junior high, and high schools are Title I schools with school-wide programs. This means that all students who attend our Title I schools are eligible for services provided at that school for students who are not succeeding.

To learn more about the Title I Program at your school, please attend your school's School Site Council meetings.

The following schools have been identified as Title I schools: Anna Borba;  Briggs; Cattle; Chaparral; Cortez; Dickey; Dickson; Glenmeade; Legacy; Liberty; Marshall; Newman; Rhodes; Walnut; Magnolia JHS; Ramona JHS; Woodcrest JHS; Buena Vista HS; Chino HS; Don Lugo HS; Chino Valley Learning Academy; and Boys Republic.
